| Cellulose Acetate |
|
|
Cellulose acetate is produced from the plant substance cellulose, obtained from soft woods and other plants,
notably cotton. Acetate is typically used in applications requiring optical clarity and (in sheet form) rigidity
and high-impact resistance. Acetate is easily cut and shaped, and does not distort under normal temperatures.
And, because acetate is highly insulative, it is often used as a covering for wire in the electrical industry.
Other uses for Acetate film include page protection, packaging, graphic arts applications, and printing and photographic materials.
