| Polycarbonate (a.k.a Lexan®) |
|

Polycarbonates are transparent thermoformable materials noted (in sheet form) for their
superior impact resistance—30 times stronger than acrylic, and up to 250 times stronger
than glass—making them the ideal materials for protection against vandalism or outside
forces of nature. Remarkably, polycarbonate sheet is also highly malleable, allowing for
on-site construction forming not possible with the more rigid acrylics or glass. Polycarbonate
sheet is useful as wall material for greenhouses, skylights and lighting panels, and
security-protection applications. Polycarbonate films are extremely tough and dimensionally
stable, and can be processed in a variety of ways without losing their original shape or
durability. Polycarbonate films are commonly used in the production of automotive parts,
and various graphics-products applications.
