|
|
UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) has a molecular weight
average that is 10 times higher than standard high density polyethylene resins.
This gives UHMW a unique combination of attributes that make it more useful in
many applications where lower molecular weight grades cannot perform.
UHMW is an excellent replacement for metals, wood, and ceramics, and is
resistant to chemical corrosion and impact shattering. This durable material
also has good thermal and electrical properties, and is lightweight (despite its nomenclature).
Typical applications for UHMW include food processing, machine bearings and bushings, truck bed
liners, conveyor wearstrips, and more.
